Any pub operating company which
publishes a code of practice may apply for Benchmarked Status.
How to apply & Fee structure
A pub operating company wishing to
apply for Benchmarked Status will be asked to submit a duly completed application form to the
Scheme Secretariat along with 7 copies of the code of practice, together with
the Fee.Further details are contained

The Process
The Scheme Secretariat will examine
the code of practice in the context of the Criteria to ensure that each topic
set out in the Criteria is covered and meets the minimum standard
adequately. Any inadequacies will be discussed with the pub operating company
within 7 working days of receipt of the application.
When, in the opinion of the Scheme
Secretariat, adequacy has been achieved, the code of practice will be submitted
to the Benchmarking Committee along with a recommendation of whether
Benchmarked Status should be awarded.
Rules and Regulations
By applying for Benchmarked Status,
a pub operating company undertakes to BIIBAS that it will comply with the
Rules. BIIBAS agrees to comply with the Rules and to notify any
Benchmarked pub operating company or any pub operating company who has
submitted an application of any amendments to the Rules within a reasonable
time by displaying the amended Rules and Regulations on the BIIBAS Website.
Advice
The Scheme Secretariat will provide
an advisory service for Pub Companies in respect of drafting codes of practice
and for pub operating companies making or considering making an application.
